Immigration Process
How We Work.
We always start by looking at what we have on paper. We recommend that you send us your CV and any other relevant information, such as your qualifications and certificates, and we will review them. We can then identify whether there is a pathway for you and your family, and if so, we will be in contact with you to book a meeting.
This is a free, no obligation meeting where we will get to know you better, and discuss your pathway. Normally, this won’t take longer than perhaps 30-45 minutes.
During this meeting, we welcome any questions you may have. As your LIA (Licensed Immigration Advisor) has been in the industry for many years, we have a lot of experience, and have encountered most of the questions you are likely to ask. However, if we need to research a query, we will get back to you with our findings.
After the first meeting, once we have reviewed all your information and have determined the pathway going forward, you are free to decide whether you wish to continue the process with NZ Life Immigration, to let us walk the journey with you, or not.
Once you have made your decision, we can start ensuring that you have your documents in place. This can sometimes be easier said than done!
Making sure you have all the correct documents is probably the most vital step of all. It is your foundation. One doesn’t build a house starting with a roof, and so we believe that building a strong foundation is vital. This process may be quick, taking just a few weeks, but can take as long as 6 months or more. It is thus important to realise that an employer who may have offered you a position, may not be able to wait that long, and may not be able to hold your potential job for you while waiting for your documents to be compiled and your visa processed.
Thus it is wise, once you are fully ready with your documents, to then try and obtain the offer of employment. You are competing with the entire world for work. We recommend that you have everything in place so that when you have the offer, the process is quicker.
We take pride in our prompt communication, so we strive to keep you fully informed at every step, and updated on the status of the visa application, so that you are not left wondering.
It is now time to start this very exciting new chapter of your lives. All that you have dreamt of for so many years is now becoming your new reality, and we are so excited for you. Should you have any questions, please remember, we are just an email or call away. We wish you everything of the best in your new venture and look forward to keeping in contact.
After you have been in New Zealand for the required time and are eligible for residency, we hope that you will contact us so that we can help you with this final process of your journey. For some clients, the pathway to Residency may be relatively soon after arriving in New Zealand, whilst others may first be required to work in New Zealand for a specific period of time.
We look forward to reconnecting with you. At that stage we will again confirm that you have all your documents in your folders and let you know if you need to make any changes. This helps to make residency easy and seamless.

This stage should take you about 4-6 months.
More Of This Stage
The time-frame on this stage will vary, depending on which path you are eligible for, but your LIA will explain the processing times on each visa type, so that you know how much time you have to wrap up your affairs in your country. This can however be from a few weeks to a couple of months.
Now that we have all your documents and you have secured the job offer, let us review the offer to ensure that all requirements are met.
We will accept the Job Token that you will have received from your new employer and commence the Visa Application.
If there is any information that your LIA may require, they will give you a quick call and request it.
Once your Applications are ready, you will be able to review them to ensure that you are satisfied with all the information, and pose any queries you may have. An exciting step to be part of!
Is your new employer wondering about the progress? We will liaise with them as well, so that they have an idea of when you will be able to start your job.
Your application is now lodged and we will keep you updated on its progress.
Once your application is processed, your LIA will share the good news with you and you will soon be on your way.
Long Route and Short Route to Residency
For a select few, the Short Route to Residency will be the final Stage.
Some applicants may qualify to initiate their Permanent Residency process after a period of being in New Zealand for approximately 6 months. Should you qualify for this Short Route, (Tier 1) this will be communicated to you during this Second Stage.
For most applicants the Long Route would be required, with this being the Second Stage of three.
Most applicants need to be employed in New Zealand for 2 years or more. (Tier 2) So, once you reach that point, let us know, and we can review your situation and assess your Residency application.
You may not wish to use our Services for all these stages, although we would value it, having already built a relationship with you. You are free to choose to only use our Services for Stage 1, if this is more amenable to you.
Our services are tailored to your needs and your pocket.
Visitor Visas
R5000 excl. VAT per family or single applicant.
You have been considering going to New Zealand to visit friends and family and want to also explore the country.
Many applicants may use this time to also meet with potential employers. Let us make that happen.
We will use a very similar service as mentioned in Stage One, to ensure that all your documents are correct, so that we can lodge your application in an efficient manner.
